The mechanism is smart, the materials are rugged. Snap-E Mousetraps are easy to use and made to last. Use them year after year. They're safe, simple and sanitary. Steel and durable polystyrene materials make them tough. Smart engineering - including a larger trip paddle and strike bar - makes them work every time. Easy to bait. Easy to set. Easy to release. Easy to outsmart pesky pests. Place the baited SNAP-E near a wall and pull back on the upright bar until it locks firmly in catch. The vertical strike bar travels half the distance of old-fashioned wooden traps. The extra-large trip paddle and strike bar catch rodents from the front, sides and back. To release, simply pull back on the upright bar until mouse is released. Fingers never touch the mouse. | | | Features: | |

These traps flat out work well...Jan 09, 2012
By Analyst I'll post my review of this mouse trap here since I bought the 24 pack. I will forgo adding another 5-star review to single unit Kness Snap-E Mouse Trap and let the currently 201 reviews of the with an average 4.73 rating speak for themselves. These traps flat out work well...
The packaging at this quantity/price point is nothing fancy--it's just a plastic bag full of 24 traps that cost less than half the cost of buying them individually. I've read and empirically concur that setting many traps is the best way to quickly eradicate these pesky rodents.
Unlike the hooded D-Con traps that share the same trip mechanism they are easier to set and far easier to `empty'. Just hold over the garbage can, open the spring bar, and shake the dead critter off... I reuse the traps and have one trap that I now call the Chris Kyle trap, which due to its strategic placement has over a half dozen kills.
The traps do flip over when they snap, but once that happens its time to empty and re-bait the trap anyway... So if you are worried where the traps might fall upon snapping, I would secure them as a previous reviewer suggested or use the aforementioned hooded D-Con traps as they tend not to move due to the added bulk of the hood.
So Easy to Use, But Pricey!Jul 11, 2011

This trap is so much easier to set than the cheap Victor snap traps. With the latter we found 2/3 of the time the trap had sprung but no mouse(and PB) were in it. Also, with the last package of Victors we tried it was impossible to set the trap in the armed position (it kept closing). I called customer service and they were very nice and replaced the traps but the new ones had the same problem. The only downside to the Kness traps it that we discard them with each catch and they are very pricey. One hint with the traps is to use a binder clip (or 2) to hold the trap firmly on a paper plate. Otherwise, this trap (and others like it) have a tendency to flip over upon catching a mouse.
